The NHS Friends and Family Test

We want you to have the best possible care experience from The Old Dispensary.  The NHS Friends and Family Test (FFT) gathers patient feedback so we may review our service continually.

The FFT allows our patients, carers, and loved ones to leave feedback on their care and treatment.  Patients are asked to consider: "Thinking about your most recent visit to our Practice, overall, how was your experience?"

Please tell us what you think about the care or treatment you have received from us using our Feedback Form:  Friends and Family Test Note this is for feedback only and not enquiries.

This form has been developed based on NHS national guidance on FFT feedback to help GP Practices improve patient experience.  Answers can be ranked from "very good" to "very poor", and there is an opportunity to explain the score given to us by adding comments.  This is important because we can only know what we do well and how we could do better if you let us know.  FFT feedback is regularly reviewed by the Practice team. 




We are OPEN and our GPs and nurses are here as usual seeing patients. 

During these unprecedented times our absolute aim here at the surgery is to keep our patients and our staff safe. We are now becoming busier and we thank everyone for their patience and understanding during this time. 

For now the front door to the surgery remains closed as we need to limit the amount of people in the building due to the size of the building.  There is an intercom system to the left of the front door and the receptionist can be contacted via this system.

If you have an appointment to see the nurse you will be asked to go to the back door where there is direct access to hand sanitiser and the nurse's room, we ask that you wear a face covering please.  The nurse will be wearing PPE. We have had a small shelter built at the rear of the building and have an indoor seated waiting area.

If you have an appointment with the GP you will be able to enter via the front door, you will need to wear a face covering and use the provided hand sanitiser.  We have had all our seating recovered in a wipe clean fabric and these are constantly cleaned throughout the day.  We ask all patients to respect social distancing rules.  

The surgery is thoroughly cleaned every night and throughout the day. We are maintaining social distancing, face coverings and PPE for all healthcare staff.

Parking and Access

Parking is either at the far end of the Allenview public car park in Wimborne or short stay parking of one hour is directly outside the premises at 32 East Borough, Wimborne.

Wheelchair access is via the surgery rear door or via a ramp through the front door. Please let reception know if you require assistance via our intercom system to the left of the front door. 

When we are closed

The surgery is open between 8:00am and 6:30pm Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).  For any medical queries that cannot wait until the surgery is open please dial NHS 111 this is a free service from both landlines and mobiles (although if you call from a pay-as-you-go mobile you will need at least 1p credit).

Offering a Ukrainian guest a place to stay in your home is a generous commitment but it may come with some complex challenges and Castleman Healthcare would like to support you in this journey whether your family has arrived or you are awaiting their arrival.


Sessions are aimed at encouraging you to work through what may be complex emotions and how to deal with them. Through these group sessions you will explore emotional resilience, setting boundaries and how to identify signs of trauma in others. The aim is to offer the host a safe space in a relaxed setting, where you can take time to reflect and share experiences. All conversations will be confidential. 


Each FREE session will be limited to 12 participants and will last 90 minutes with refreshments provided. We will meet monthly at either St Marys Church, Ferndown or the Broadstone Methodist Church, with various times available.
